I have found a source of deliciously yummy scrappy-goodness here ... many sneek peaks at the newest releases from tons of companies at CHA this past week... I cannot WAIT to get my hands on some of this stuff! I am geared up for two whole days off from work which I plan to use as productive creative time, but we'll see how that goes ;)

P.S. Dear Jayne, I think you might be mistaken in your understanding of the contract between yourself and Ms. Horgan. You see, I am a princess (just ask Bob, he knows all about it), and everyone knows princesses get whatever they want. Therefore, I demand that upon the release of the book, "Doodling for Papercrafters", you relinquish all rights to and terminate any contracts you may have previously held with Ms. Horgan. She will henceforth be known as Assistant to Princess Doodle-Pants (me). I appreciate your understanding and immediate cooperation. Thank you, Melissa

i'm NOT stomping, my feet are just heavy...

having a creative moment yesterday... erin snapped a few pics of me working on a potential sample for an upcoming class I'd like to teach focusing on  doodling techniques. Many people who have taken my Handwriting Techniques class at the store have shown interest in wanting to dive into doodling, but until recently I had no idea how I would even begin to configure a class like that. Fear not! I do believe that I have come up with a brilliant format... :)

P.S. check out those ROOTS! Good thing I have an appointment to touch up the 'do on friday...

I received an email from maelynn asking me to send my requested projects in for the upcoming "Doodling for Papercrafters" publication ... I am having a hard time allowing myself to actually believe my work will be published (despite the over-the-top reactions some of you have seen me have ;) I don't think that I'm going to allow myself to really get excited until I get visual confirmation that, indeed, my handiwork has been deemed cool enough to be included in this book. I'll keep you posted as the whole process moves along...

Dear Jayne, Erin regrets to inform you that she will no longer be able to be an employee of Colorful Creations once the "Doodling for Papercrafters" book is published, as she will then be employed as my personal assistant/bouncer (not bodyguard). Missing Jenn and Jayne (and Tessa)! Jealous that they are still in CA getting peeks at all the fun new products that are out there... that they got to meet Tyler from QuicKuts (this guy has the best phone-voice ever), that "Stampy Pants" is shmoozing their way into exclusive parties and  probably getting tons of free stuff to bring back for the auction at the store . Whatever. As long as they bring back something for me, I guess we'll be good. I won't even tell them about the kegger Erin had while they were gone ;)

cafe press fun

so... this might have to be a present for someone's birthday...

Don't you think this would be a GREAT 21st birthday gift? I do :)

I've been having wwaaaayyy too much fun browsing the selection of humorous t-shirts at cafe press. I seriously have over $200 worth of goods in my shopping cart. I'll have to take a **serious** look at the goods I've set aside as "must haves"... will share more later ;)

Extremely non-productive Sunday checked off on the calendar today... slept in, took a walk, took a nap, went to a Stampin' Up party (and spent wwaaaayyy too much $$), fudged dinner and sat my rear end here at the computer blog-jumping and scanning cafe press... boy, do I feel L-A-Z-Y. Please tell me that yes, I have been working hard and deserve a day like this. Thanks. I feel much better now ;)

It appears that I have quite the talent for creating ribbon-measuring devices, and Erin was totally psyched when I came up with this little gadget while we were prepping for an upcoming class at the store. Wait til jenn hears about this one...

In other news, I am super excited to peek at the new stuff from KI Memories that is being released at CHA... elsie's new line looks like tons of fun! The Basic Grey looks yummy, too.While the bosses are away, Erin, MelisseR and myself are left to browse messege boards in hopes of sneaking peeks at the latest and greatest in the world of papercrafting. {{sigh}} I guess we'll have to WAIT to get a first-hand peek at the goods, just like the rest of the world.

So, I guess this blog thing is working out pretty well, at least I haven't heard otherwise from the three people who know about it ;) I think I might let shurkus in on my little secret soon... I'll need her help when she returns to reality next week. Wish me luck!

ooh, i heard it through the grapevine...

Erin rocks.

She surprised me at work this afternoon with these beautiful Gerber Daisies... my favorite! She heard through the grapevine (thanks jenn) that I had 4 layouts selected for publication in an upcoming book to be titled "Doodling for Papercrafters".

Let me explain.. a few weeks ago jenn emailed me the link to Maelynn's blog , calling for handwritten and doodled layouts. After much aggravation, I finally succeeded in at least emailing my information and some photos of my work, barely making the deadline. Over 1,000 layouts were submitted for the call, and four of mine were chosen! I hadn't allowed myself to get excited about the whole venture, I was just proud of myself for even trying. The book is due to be published in May/June... I'll keep you posted!

maybe 12:41 am isn't the best time to be trying to set up a blog, then again, i haven't ever really been known for my great timing.

i guess we'll figure out if this whole thing works, huh?
