How about a little weekend update??
G and I spent a fun day together on Thursday (I know, not technically the weekend, but I have to share). We stopped at the Tea Shoppe in the Mashpee Commons for a "spot of tea" before heading to the toy store to pick up a gift for Mal's 3rd birthday. We shared a pot ov black vanilla tea and each ordered a breakfast wrap - scrambled egg with bacon for me, and strawberry/cream cheese/ granola for Griff. It was so funny to see him trying to sit up straight, hands in his lap, best manners... he knew we were in a fancy-ish place and he was so trying to play the part. That's my boy :)
After leaving the Commons (which included a stop at the GAP, mortifying G as I purchased a handful of boxers for him) we headed to the bank so Griff could make his $29 deposit. The kid loves putting money in the bank, and always gloats about how much he has in his savings account.

Next stop... Leary's for some arcade action. It was surprisingly empty at the arcade, thankfully. I get a little worked up when there are a ton of screaming kids running around there on the weekends, unattended by their parents who are socializing in the corner. Yeah, thanks lady... your precious little twit just snagged a handful of tokens out of my child's cup while he was playing a game and not looking. That's usually the type of I-wanna-wring-your-mama's-neck sort of thought that runs through my mind when we attempt the arcade on a Saturday. Just not happening anymore.
Griff scored 431 tickets from the assorted games he loves to play, and was thrilled to be able to choose some *sweet* prizes.
Although he really wanted the magnetic checkers set, the middle aged woman who had been hogging the big-ticket-winning-machines (sans children, might I add) snatched it while Griff was waiting to be noticed by the arcade attendant. He handled the disappointment well and instead left the building with an armload of goodies.
<----- Check out the fuzzy bank that looks like Belle.... definately my favorite from his stash :)
He also came home with a ginormous pen, two hacky sacks, a balsa wood airplane and the Belly-Bank. A good morning, a good afternoon. Feels good to finally get to spend some Q-T with my buddy after a long school year. Yay Summer!!!
Bob's mom stopped by on Saturday morning with a box of strawberries, freshly picked (and still warm from the sun) from Bobio's grandparents. Yum and yum!!! They were small but oh-so-sweet.... a certain sign that summer is here.
There was a small visitor with the box o' berries. How cute is the orange ladybug creeping over the juicy red berries?? So cute that I had to grab my camers :D Bobio even got in on the action by helping to turn the box so I could get a decent shot of the critter as is moved over the berries at what I would call lady-bug-warp-speed. Thanks for the assistance, caress.
Some pool time for Griff on Saturday afternoon was just about all we needed to end the month of June on a high note. G is proud of his underwater handstand abilities, and is ready to show them off whenever you get a chance to swing by.
Saturday night Bobio and I were joined by my bff for a trip to Home Depot and dinner at the Olive Garden... a pretty fantastical date, don't you think?? Oh, and a note to the waitress... maybe if you didn't pull TWO "drop-and-run" stunts and had actually seemed to care about your job as a server (or had come to make change for our check), you would have gotten more than a 10% tip. Which was too much for the service you provided anyway. Thanks.
Sunday = work. Not so bad... but for some reason Sundays always seem to drag a bit.
Enjoyed a little impromptu BBQ action last night with Shurkus, Tania (my-best-friend-since-kindergarten) and her hubby Josh with their dog, Brady.
Brady and Belle are boyfriend and girlfriend, just to let you know. He's two years old and she's six months. She won't leave him alone, even when he tries to lie down or walk away. How could he not be in love with this little puppy-girl's sweet face??!! I can't believe I didn't take a picture of the riotous action that was the puppy play date, but I promise to next time.
Phew!! Maybe I shouldn't go so long between blog entries, huh??
