1. traipsing around Boylston Street.
2. sitting in our fantastical seats at the Orpheum, waiting for the show to start.
3. stopping under a street light in Boston Common in the pouring rain to document the walk back to the car... soaking wet. soaking.
tori, out. yep, we wiated patiently at the opening to the alley for over an hour, in the spitting rain, hoping to say hi to tori.. maybe have her sign our tickets or bras or cornflake boxes.
no, we didn't REALLY bring cornflakes, but it would have been waaaayyyyy funny. ;)
well, thanks to my super crazy detective skillzzzz, we did manage to I-SPY the silver sedan pulling up beside the not-so-undercover-tour-bus parked out on the street (NOT in the alley where the crazy girls were waiting)... and we peeped tori sneak from the back seat of the car directly onto the bus. no autographs. no waving. no thanks-for-standing-in-the-rain-like-crazy-people-for-an-hour meet and greet session.
oh, well. it's all good. she had to prepare herself for one heck of a border patrol heading into Canada at 5 am, so i guess we'll let it slide this time ;)
i L.O.V.E. this cutie pic i snapped of jenn as we were waiting to cross Boylston Street.
this is her "i'm waiting to cross the street" face. for real. i didn't even tell her to make that face. it just happened that every time i pointed the camera at her, the same pose popped up. at least she's consistent (and cute).
we had a pretty sweet time leading up to the show.. we didn't get lost AT ALL... and thanks to Stacy's fantastical navigation skillzzzz the night before, we also didn't get lost getting OUT of the city.
*sigh* you don't know HOW HAPPY that makes me. no Washington Street. no evacuation routes. bliss. sheer bliss. ;)
1. the ginormous neon sign on the side of the Orpheum. yes, it DOES say something about walking to Washington Street, but we DID NOT do that. i avoid any street by the name of "Washington" like the plague.
2. Orpheum Theatre. Tori Amos. Oct. 18,19. we were there.
3. our seats. second orchestra section on the left of the stage, first row. near the open door. we got rained on through parts of the show. rain, as in the wet stuff that falls from the sky. IN through the open stage door. strange, but true.
i sooooooooo wish i had my big-girl camera with me, and that i had crazy concert photog skillz, 'cause we really did have a pretty *sweet* vantage point throughout the show. the lighting was perfectly in synch with the music... with the feeling and emotion and intensity of every song...
the blurry pics from the little Fuji will have to do...
...'cause there isn't really anything i can do about it now.
we were there, we had the tori experience x2, and it was a great time.
even the guy from paper source was jealous.
i love you and your old school architecture. i love that i totally get the "Phantom of the Opera" vibe every time i visit you.
i love how the stage lighting makes you seem real and alive and so full of the people and events and experiences that have existed within your walls.
i will be back, oh yes, i will be back.
love, melsisa
who is this melsisa that is writing on your blog??????

Glad the shows were so great. I haven't seen her live in a long time, and as much as I don't listen to her a lot on my own, I always LOVE a chance to watch her perform. She's like nobody else on stage. I love the Orpheum, too, unless you're up in the balcony with negative leg room in those upper seats.
I just found out that a friend-of-a-friend of mine was also at both shows, so you're not alone in your craziness.
