... me?
YEP! Well, kind of.
You see, the super exciting news for the day is that today is the official ONE YEAR BIRTHDAY OF THE BLOG-IOLA!!!!
That means I have been a typepad blogger for one year. I have been sharing bits and pieces and stories from my life with all of you for 365 days. (woah. way to stick with it!)
SOOOOOOOOoooooooooo.....
Since it's a birthday, there HAS to be a party, right??!!
Here's how we're gonna celebrate:
For the next three days, we will be partying together. You can feel free to enjoy some cake and ice cream, if you like. It's a birthday, so I believe it to be appropriate. If your friends/family/co-workers ask whats up with the cake and ice cream, just tell them that it's a major VIP event, and they can only share in the goodies if they come play, too ;) Each day I will post two "challenges" for you to participate in. Do one, do a few, do 'em all... whatever floats your boat. I'll post each set of "challenges" in the morning, and you will have until Monday night to complete them.
So, why participate in the *challenges*? What's a birthday without PRESENTS??!! Participate in a challenge (or two, or three...) and you'll get yourself a gifty. It might be a length of fabulous ribbon, or a bag-o-bling, or some felt-y things, a post card, some vintage buttons, a mix CD, or any number of other random bits of goodness I have stashed away. It's all gonna be a surprise, 'cause that's what presents are all about, right? ;) On Tuesday, I'll post a list of the people who played along, and I'll leave my email addy for you to send along your mailing address. Once that's done, I'll pop your goodies in the mail.
Lets get right to it (if you don't mind ;)
Challenge #1: Highly Entertaining
That's the name of the blog, and if any of you know me IRL, you know it's true. The first challenge is to make something with the theme "highly entertaining". Maybe it's a layout, a daily card, an itunes playlist, a cool design on your new manicure. The possibilities are endless! Make your something and leave a comment on this blog post by Monday at 8pm. I would love to SEE what you've done, so upload a picture of the something to your blog/online gallery/etc. and leave a link with your comment. If you don't have that technology, I understand ;) Just leave a comment explaining the "highly entertaining" something, and that will work, too.
Here's what I came up with this morning:
safety glasses credit: Marden's
alpha stcker credit: Staples
plaid fabric credit: RVA kit
7G journaling tag credit: {colorful creations}
Hardcore*Superstar pin credit: cafe press
take-photos-of-your-junk-in-your-bathroom-window-in-the-morning idea credit: Shurkus :P
(hope I covered all my bases with those credits ;)
Challenge #2: Share the love
Do you know someone who needs a good dose of something *highly entertaining*? Someone who needs to work those smilin' muscles, someone who you love to laugh with? This challenge is about sharing the love of laughter with someone else. Call a friend and share a funny story, send someone an email with a joke, grab your bff and catch a movie... anything! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post by 8pm on Monday letting me know what the *highly entertaining* thing you did entailed. Go ahead, make someone's day :)
This layout it amazing.... gonna CASE it somehow. TFs. I'd love to join if I have time. Have a good day!

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday Dear Highly Entertaining/bzzyfingers, Happy Birthday to you! I just started my blog on 1/19/08 and find blogville to be very exciting!
Challenge #1 is posted to my blog.
Challenge #2 is a joke titled The Pacific Northwest According to Jeff Foxworthy (I live in Seattle). The bottom line of the joke is that he nailed every statement, and you can imagine all the jokes people tell about Seattle. I about fell off my chair laughing at work today. I immediately forwarded it to 4 of my friends. It was a definite cheer up for one of my friends who had just had to put one of her beloved kitties down.

Is it really only a year since you started this totally amusing, fantastical but sometimes totally tear jerking, not to be missed blog. It is reading this as soon as possible that exercises my laughter muscles along with my tear ducts. Please don't stop.

#1 - I compiled a list of posts of my crazy kids...it reads like your early puppy stories: http://stampinwhenican.blogspot.com/search/label/%22Highly%20Entertaining%22
One day, I will make these moments into layouts!
#2 The thing I have been doing to help DH out is play ping-pong with him before bed...my reactions are over the top and it helps him get some chuckles once the day of nightmarish job tales and arduous child-rearing is over!

#2 - Kayta and I went to see 27 dresses the other night. We had such a great time and it was wonderful to laugh with her (I laughed so hard I almost went pee). I highly recommend this movie and it's even better with a friend.:)

Dear Melissa,
Happy Blog Birthday. Has it really been a year?
Thinking about #1.
On #2 I just forwarded a sweet picture of a little boy praying with his dog. Responses say it brightened a lot of days.
Thanks for the push. Janie Greene

oops i am doing something creative this weekend, i am planning dylan's 100 day in school project. lots of lollipops involved. as well as an a muse atc swap, with my elyse, mikey and pie stamp. something reminiscent of pushing daisies, one of fav new shows that isn't on because of the lame strike. at least lost is on this week!!

ok... i made a highly entertaining birthday card for my niece's baby's 1st birthday....... (lame, huh?) how about the highly entertaining minibook i made with the buttonfarm angela???
ok, and i have been accused of having no sense of humor so it's hard to make someone laugh, but i got some good chuckles from some of the ridiculousness of johnny wier(d).(US nationals skating)
