Sew.... guess what I've been up to?
Sewing! My mom gifted me a sewing machine for Christmas... no bells or whistles or anything, just plain and simple and easy to operate (score one for me). After some learning trial-and-error style, I *finally got the hang of it and have been stitching everything in sight. Fabric, paper, whatever. I even purchased a pattern and loads of fabric to make tote bags... I've whipped three of them up and then thought I'd try to get creative on my own... *gasp* what a thought!
The fruity bag is a very simple tote bag made with some vintage fabric I scored at the little antique-ish shop down the road from my house... There was just enough to make the bag with a little extra left over for some other crafty goodness. I used the pretty eyelet trim my SIStv *happy mail* partner, Breanne sent me to dress up the rather plain-looking bag.... and, voila!
The second pic is an apron... lemon/citrus fabric mixed with some apple/pear goodness... it's pretty cute, if i do say so myself. I even added a pocket! Please don't ask me what I plan to do with the apron, as I'm not entirely domestic and don't do much that would require the use of an apron... but we'll see. Don't look *too* closely at either project, because there certainly are flaws in each. Hey, I'm a newbie! Cut me a little slack!
P.S. I also scored some *sweet* deals while at the little shop I bought the vintage fabric from... there *might* be some gifty-ness going on soon ;)
you should totally fashion me a high fashion satchel. i'm just saying...
