Whoo hoooooooo! I scrapped a bit yesterday with Erin (between giggling, listening to love songs on itunes, munching on deeeeeeelicious pizza, and laughing at Griff...), and I feel like I'm getting my groove back :)
I played with core'dinationscardstocks that we have been carrying at the storesince the beginning of the year. They are really pretty versatile, and they are no more expensive than the "regular" cardstocks, which is certainly a bonus. I'll probably bring the layouts into the store this weekend to display for a while... maybe all the crazy ladies at the Spring Studio Crop will give me more inspiration to keep on scrappin' :D
Sheesh, it's been a while since I've share a layout with you, hasn't it?
Miss Breanne, with baby Madelyn still in her belly back in September. Of course I had to whip out the sewing machine and the Thickers... the "journaling is taken from the song "You Are TheBest Thing" by Ray Lamontagne. SUCH a happy song, and I thought the words (or my versionof them, anyway!) were a perfect accompaniment to the feel of the layout. Tearing the core'dinations cardstock is probably the easiest way to reveal it's hidden treasure... the colored core that perfectly compliments the "front" side of the paper. *coolio*
Whoooooo am I? Me. Plain and simple. I had fun playing with different techniques on this layout... a sort-of version of this one will be featuredin my Beyond Basics class (June 29th from 6-8 pm.. call the store to register! 508-790-7676). I used both sides of the cardstock to create the coordinating paper effects, I also folded, sanded, tore, stamped and punched the paper. The title was cut with my new ***favorite*** Quickutz font, Metro. Thanks to the fantastical sale Miss Jayne Irving was running a few weeks ago, this baby was a STEAL . Can I get a wooT wooT for JI??!! ;)
*Ack*! My Andrew, causing trouble at the beach ;) Obviously, I had caught the sewing-machine-bug again while working this one out. Stitching and foam tape-ing and layering and sanding and dry-embossing, oh my! The three clouds actually feature three different distressing techniques (left to right): dry embossing little circles before sanding, straight-from-the-sanding-block sanding, and crumple-open-sand-sanding. The title was cut from the cardstock as well, again using my old school QUickutz hand tool *gasp*. The base of this layout is actually Bazzill Bling cardstock, which gives the page a real shimmery look when you get up close and personal.
... and one more little project thrown in for good measure (and because I have a tiny-little-something in mind for a tiny-little-someone..).
A cute little gifty bag made using the accu-cut machine at Colorful Creations. You can see how the outside of the box has a very pale pink "whitewashed" effect, while the inside of the box shows the darker core of the paper. VERY COOL. I'm a sucker for the subtle effects, you know ;) The band arounf the bag is made by layering torn cardstock and patterned paper with a series of punched circles that were stamped, stickered, and blinged. "It's a Girl" ribbon is all this lovely little darling needed as a finishing touch.
Because th weather here is so extraordinarily fantastic right now (I SHOULD be outside, basking in the glow of the sun), my pictures turned out with some amount of glare. The colors are SO vibrant when you get to see them first hand, so try to stop by the store sometime soon and see what YOU can do with these lovelies, too.
If you are loving the look of the core'dinationscardstocks and want to learn a little bit more about them, our rep will be at Colorful Creations on Saturday, May 9th from 1-2 pm for a *free* demo. Who doesn't like something free?? No need to sign up, just stop by and get inspired :D
There is sunshine on my shoulders to be had today, so I'm off to soak up some rays. Hope you have a fab weekend... good luck to all the ladies cropping at the store! Sending creative vibes your way :D
you make me cry. tears of happiness, of course. i love you.
