Yesterday Bobio and I attended the baby-havin' class at the hospital. Although we were there for 7 hours, the time flew by (and he didn't even pass out during the birth video). I think he is feeling quite a bit relieved knowing the ins and outs of the whole "process".
One of the exercises we did was to read over a scale of pain/tollerance/medication request for the birthing process. The idea was that each of us would silently look at the chart, then the partner would guess at what level on the scale the birthing mother was at mentally going into the whole process.
My husband is good, I tell ya. He guessed my preference exactly.
While all the other expecting moms stated that they wanted pain medication ASAP, I was the ONLY one who didn't. Maybe it is because I've been through it before. Who knows? I am in no way trying to be a martyr and suffer through the pain... but if all goes well we will be delivering this little bean au naturale, just like her big brother was 12 years ago.
Anyway.
(Papa and Belle... right after she comes out of her crate. She ALWAYS has her blanket shoved in her mouth, kind of like a baby with their pacifier.... only she's a dog, with a baby blanket, who doesn't actually realize she's a dog.)
We wound up taking Miss Buttons on two walks yesterday. One was in the morning before we were going out for the day (I couldn't stand leaving her in the crate all day, even though it's pretty much her favorite place in the world). The next was at about 7 pm... after dinner... conveniently we wound up at Smitty's for some deeeeeeeeeeeilsh lemon sorbet ;)
Poor Belle wanted so desperately to play with the dozens of kids sitting at the picnic tables, running in the grass, and climbing the trees. After a few minutes of pulling on her leash and wagging her tail and making those irresistable puppy-eyes at everyone she could, she finally admitted defeat and sat by my side, watching all the fun while I ate my cone. Poor girla-girl :( By the time we got back to the house it was nearly 8 o'clock, and she cozied up at the window to snooze and feel the cool breeze.
The best part of the whole day??
Waking up this morning.
I actually slept through the whole night (minus the one bathroom run at midnight... but that doesn't really count). I think there are MANY more late evening walks in my future, possibly adding that lemon sorbet into the mix once in a while. Remind me about this the next time I complain about a crappy night's sleep, ok? ;)
Today marks the 32nd week of my pregnancy. That means there are roughly 8 more weeks to go.
Seriously?
Seriously.
I want some lemon sorbet - my favorite thing recently.
