Having two little ladies in the house makes for a very busy mama with not-so-much free time on her hands. I'm working on finding balance between things I NEED to do (care for my girls, primarily!),things I SHOULD do (laundry, dishes) and things I WANT to do (blog, scrap, NAP!!), but every day around here is different as Miss Sadie Lady is constantly changing. She is begining to move out of that sleepy newborn stage and stay awake for longer periods of time. Maya Grace is dealing with her second round of ear infections this week which is also cramping our style. Nap time around here is entertaining to say the least, if not extremely aggrivating for mama. Maya is accustomed to having her milk and being rocked to sleep, which is proving to be difficult when Little Sister is awake and needs mama's attention. Oy!
I was able to put together a few layouts before Sadie was born, and one of them is featured over on the Core'dinations blog today! I used some of the new Basic Grey Core Impressions cardstock along with patterned papers and stickers from BG. The photo on the layout is Miss Maya Grace when she was a tiny 12 days old... hard to believe she is going to be 18 months old NEXT WEEK. Really??!!

To make the flower, I punched circles out of one of the pieces of core impressions and folded up two sides of the circle to create a triangle-like shape. I adhered the circles to another punched circle using my handy-dandy glue gun (dries fast and has great sticking power). I added a flower embellishment to the center of the paper flower and made the leaves using this tutorial. Super easy and a neat dimensional addition to my page... you KNOW i love lumpy pages :)
Looking at that picture of my Maya Gracie when she was tiny is so surreal to me now. She looks SO big, even though she is still a peanut. She is trying to talk more, is developing a fun sense of humor, and LOVES helping out. I am savoring every moment of her little-ness because I know it isn't going to last much longer, especially with the arrival of Little Sister. Maya is learning to be more independent by default, as I am not able to drop everything the minute she needs me anymore. She is needing to communicate more, wait longer, and deal with disappointment in ways she didn't have to three weeks ago. She really is adjusting marvelously, and is SO sweet to her "beebee" Sadie.
My heart kindof swells up with pride when I see all the amazing ways she is growing while it is also twisting up in my chest at the same time knowing I am losing my baby girl to the big-girl that is taking her place. Its sort of like watching a caterpillar transform into a butterfly. When this girl gets her wings, it will be a whole new world for us. *sigh*
