Glue Arts in tha hooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuse!!!

This week Core'dinations is teaming up with yet another fabulous company... Glue Arts! I put my Glue Glider Pro, U Cut It foam, and Raise N's to good use on a couple of layouts that I'm excited to share with you.
Labor Day weekend we always visit Brookfield Orchard in North Brookfield. My father grew up the next town over from the orchard, so I have spent plenty of time playing on the playground and stuffing bags full of penny candy over the years during visits to my grandparents home. I love seeing my children enjoying this place as much as I have over the years.
Maya Grace is at such a magical age right now; everything in the world is exciting and the joy of discovery is around every corner. Even though she is still so tiny, her personality and independent spirit is HUGE. She insisted on plucking the apples off the tree and filling the bag all.by.herself. "I do it!". We are gonna have our hands full with that one, yessiree.
To create the green ruffle-type border, I tore several strips of Core Essentials and randomly pleated them back and forth, adhering them to the back of the red Core Impressions paper using the Glue Glider Pro. I cut pieces of the U Cut It foam and adhered it along the back of the red paper to *pop* the piece off the page and give enough height to the paper so the green ruffle wouldn't be flattened out. I like me some texture ;) The journaling lines were scored from the back side of the page and sanded, then I did a little more sanding between the lines where I was going to stamp the journaling. I almost always sand along the edges of my layout for a little added definition.
... and then there is my Sadie Lady. My six month old baby girl, full of dimple-y smiles and sleepless nights. She exhausts me and makes me fall in love with her over and over again at the same time. Oy. That crazy sparkle in her eyes lights me up inside and I want to pull her close and squish the sweetness out of her kissable cheeks. I can't imaging our world without her.
I can't believe how BIG this babe is getting to be already. She is sitting up on her own and grasping for toys that will land directly in her drooly little mouth. We are introducing some foods in addition to nursing... so far we are loving yogurt and rice cereal with pears. She is also really digging tasting small bits of more solid foods like cheerios and crackers that melt on her tongue and can be pushed to the back of her mouth and swallowed down with a sip of water from her big sister's cup :)
My sewing machine was in full effect with this page, zig zagging its way along the edges of my papers to help reinforce the handmade quilt and embellished onesie Sadie is wearing in the picture. I used the Glue Glider Pro to apply adhesive along the middle of the paper pieces so my sewing machine needle wouldn't get all gunked up from stitching through sticky tape. The Raise N's adhesive dots are SUPER STICKY and worked perfectly to adhere the fabric yoyo's and buttons to the page. I used my Tim Holtz scissors to cut the dots into quarters so they were small enough to fit behind the little buttons. The U Cut It foam came in handy to pop up the large and small butterfly wings as I was able to trim just the right amount of foam to hide behind the areas I wanted to raise off the page.
I am really pleased with the strength and quality of these adhesives; each did the job I intended them to without any extra effort. I am kind of hoarding the Raise N's adhesive squares for all the bulky little goodies I love adding to my projects.
Make sure you check out the Core'dinations blog and the Glue Arts blog this week for great projects and chances to win sweet goodies!!
